Content is KING Workshop |
![]() Business in Berkshire “Content is King” Workshops • Would you like more media coverage? • Are you unsure what the newspaper editors want to read? • Are you available on the Thursday 29th April 2010? Business in Berkshire has built strong connections with the local media with many taking our events newsletter and using the information in their own publications. Much to the delight of our members. We appreciate the importance of “Content is King” from an SEO view point. The more pages you have the more chance you have of someone bumping into you … 4,000,000 of our pages have been viewed in the last 12 months! But also the quality and topical nature of that content is critical to both the interest of the general reader and the professional journalist looking for another angle to his or her story. We are now seeing a build up of news around the General Election for 2010. Last year I visited the polling station for the European Elections and was so disappointed with the lack of information available on the 15-20 parties that were on the list that I came back to my office and did some research, grabbing a paragraph of each site and adding the story to our Political Editor website: http://www.politicaleditor.co.uk/news66.html On the day of the elections people were searching for information, around 200 people visited this page. Half finding it when they used the search string “Who to vote for” !!!! And in November a novel idea that came into my mind based on the fact that football clubs were looking for sponsorship for their sheds led to us featuring on the front page of The Royal Borough Observer and being interviewed by the drive time show on BBC Radio Berkshire … that reminds me, better give them a call about the latest Sponsor THE Shed St George’s Day raffle. “Content is King” Workshop We have invited two of Berkshire most respected business journalists to join with us to find great stories from around Berkshire’s business community. Carla Delaney and Alan Bunce are journalists of some distinction and they will choose stories from those presented by the workshop attendees to follow up and turn into press releases articles for you to use with the local media. They will push them through their channels and we’ll use them over here at BinB to maximise your exposure. RG12 1BP Format: 9:30 Registration 10:00 Each participant (max 30) talks for 90 seconds about their business or other topic that interest them and presents this to those present.
