“Businesses Keep Trade Local”
Since the launch of the Bracknell Business Club in January 2010, over 98 different businesses have attended the first 3 events with over 40 attendees at each event. The Club was launched on the back of the FSB Keep Trade Local campaign and is run by the East Berkshire Committee headed up by Vice chair Richard Knight. Richard said, “My vision for the Bracknell Business Club is to keep encouraging businesses to do business with other local businesses. We wanted to hold an event in a local pub or restaurant and Neil from the Bull was kind enough to offer his pub and I think it works really well. We also want to encourage all parts of our community to work closer together – the council, BRP, businesses and the local community. The more we can encourage a bit of joined up thinking, the better for us all. If we all learn to support each other, the stronger the community we will have” The event is held every 6 weeks and alternates between a Tuesday and a Thursday to allow more businesses to attend as we appreciate holding the event on the same day could mean that some businesses might not be able to attend. This is a call to retailers – WE NEED YOU. I appreciate networking may be outside your comfort zone, but I firmly encourage you to shut up shop on 25 May and walk down to the Bull and meet local businesses – who are also local people and we are all consumers, and potential users of each others services and we also have a contact base who also might be customers. For most of us in business we are going through the toughest time we have ever gone through and tough times call for out the box thinking and doing things differently from the way we have done things before. If what we are doing in business is not working, then please don’t keep doing it. If we want to change some things in our life, then we need to change some things in our life. Thanks to all businesses who have supported the events so far and I can ensure you that the FSB is committed to continue to support and run this event. Thanks to Bracknell Council, Nat West Bank and Neil Ellis from the Bull and Dave Alan from Dave Alan Hair Salon for sponsoring the food and allowing us to keep the event free. Thanks to Kim Chapman and the Bracknell Standard for their continued publicity of this event. Thanks to Jon Davey from Business in Berkshire for promoting these events. Thanks to councilors from the council for supporting the event. We look forward to hearing success stories, and to welcoming you at the next event Richard Knight Focal Point Advertising Mobile 07798 632173 |
